World Teachers' Day: Reps Deputy Minority Whips, 9th Assembly, Adekoya commends Teachers for contributing to the nation

The Deputy Minority Whips, Federal House of Representatives 9th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adesegun Abdel—Majid Adekoya has commended Teachers in Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside for delivering quality Educational Services to the Students and Pupils across the globe.



The aim of celebrating World Teachers’ Day is to focus on assessing, appreciating, and improving educators around the world. It also provides an opportunity to shed light on the issues related to teachers and teaching.



This year’s World Teachers’ Day, with the theme "The teachers we need for the education we want: The global imperative to reverse the teacher shortage". highlights the critical role teachers are expected to play in transforming and shaping the future of education in the midst of the growing societal needs and challenges of the 21st century.



The Deputy Minority Whips Federal House of Representatives, 9th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adesegun Abdel—Majid Adekoya used the occasion to reaffirm his commitment to the development of the education sector and the improvement of the welfare of teachers in Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside federal constituency. 



In a statement made available on Thursday: “Today, I join the world to honour and celebrate teachers for their roles in eradicating illiteracy, character moulding, securing the future of our children, who are the leaders of tomorrow, and their contributions towards the advancement of humanity.



“I congratulate the teachers in Ijebu North, East and Ogun Waterside federal constituency, and salute their unwavering commitment and dedication to their noble profession. I appreciate their vital roles in nurturing, teaching, and equipping our students with necessary social skills and helping them compete favorably in a contemporary society.



“I want to reassure you all of my commitment to the development of the education sector and the improvement of the welfare of teachers in our constituency, I implore you all to redouble your efforts in delivering sound education to our children.



“My candid advice to you all is to be upright in your profession and, at all times, endeavour to apply the ethics of noble teaching and not relent in contributing your best to nation building. I am ever committed to upholding the interests and welfare of teachers in our constituency.



“On behalf of the good people of Ijebu North, East and Ogun Wateraide Federal Constituency, I wish our great and selfless teachers, a successful and happy celebration,” he concluded.
