A score of armed men were reported to have invaded Iperu Remo town of Ogun state killing a man called Idowu Philips and kinaped  an old man Pa Obangiji believed to be the father of the fleeing Adewale Olufemi Adekunle a defected man penciled down to be eliminated by the gunmen.

The gunmen according to our source were suspected to be mercenaries of some influential political godfathers in the country, invaded the residence of Mr Adewale Olufemi Adekunle  at No 10, on Thursday September 5th, this year, attacked and killed Idowu Philips a distance cousin of  Adewale Olufemi Adekunle and kidnapped the father Pa Obangiji as a signal and warning to whoever might be hindering them on their move to gun down Mr Adewale Olufemi Adekunle.  

The Police Spokesman Ogodo A, confirm the story and told our sources that through their investigations, the recent one would be the third attempt by the hoodlums hunting for Mr Adewale Olufemi Adekunle as he had once logged an official compliant and demand for  protection at the Police Divisional Headquarters Igbeba in December 2017.

The police sources further reveal that, the sought after  man had stepped on toes during his cause of duty as a result of which, many defaulters were prosecuted in the court of law in 2012. Attempt had been made in 2016 to silence Mr Adewale Olufemi Adekunle and also in 2017.

Rasheed Ogunniake a close friend of Mr Adewale Olufemi Adekunle told our reporters that the hunted was majorly responsible for exposing a fraud of over Hundred million Naira, and the act is been frowned at by some political power.

Meanwhile the remains of Idowu Philips have been deposited at the State hospital and investigations are in Ernest to find the Kidnapped father and bring the culprits to book.
