In a way of addressing a law to amend the environmental management and protection law 2017 at Lagos State house of Assembly.
The Deputy Speaker is the house, Honorable Rasheed Sanni Eshinlokun said that the intention of the house is theme at improving the environment and the collection of waste.
Honorable Rasheed stated that the government is trying to incorporate into the proposed amendment as way of making the law better.
He advices that all NGOs, State parastatals and private company’s to come up with their memorandum as an opportunities of the numenclature to make an appropriate law amendment.
The majority leader honorable Wasii Agunbiade noted that the house is performing legislative meeting to amend laws, to repeal laws inorder to monitor the weak side of the law or bill.
While speaking further, Wasii stated that the amendment is made in order to welcome investors to contribute to the growth of the state.
He added that our being here is to make sure that the government of the people, for the people and by the people must be an accurate inputs by bringing in contributions for all members of the house, clerks, NGOs, and Stakeholders here present adding that the amendment part of the law section 27, 28, 41, 44, 48, 50, 56, 57, 58, are to make the law more effective and more powerful.
General manager Lagos State procurement Agency LASEPA, Olaore advice the house to put into law penalties of smoking in public, noise pollution and environmental development fee should be functioning well by reviewing the the fees.
Deputy Speaker of the house Sanni enjoins all residents of the State as well as the NGOs, Stakeholders,Private Companies and government parastatals for the recommendation given and promised that the committee will look into all the memorandum submitted.
